The following members of the Air National Guard, Colonel Richard (Rick) J. Evans III, Commander, 155th Air Refueling Wing, Senior Master Sergeant Lee Straube, Public Affairs/Multimedia, Senior Master Sergeant Thomas Reimers, Aerospace Ground Equipment (Nose Art Coordinator), Master Sergeant Kevin Daehling, Liquid Fuels Maintenance Mechanic, Master Sergeant Rich Walters, Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic, Master Sergeant Shannon Nielson, Wing Administrative Assistant, Technical Sergeant Sarah Bredthauer, Civil Engineering Work Control and Staff Sergeant Kasey Korth, Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic visited Sterling Public Schools, Wednesday, May 5, 2010, and revealed the winner of the 2010 Annual Nose Art Contest.
The nose art 1st place Sterling School winner was Breanna Rogman, 9th grade student, 2nd place winners were Stacia Nielsen and Tara Hesterman, 8th grade students and the third place winner was Safira Haner, 9th grade student. Congratulations to the winners and everyone who participated in the contest!
The nose art, along with the the tag number "57-1461", will be added to the nose of the KC-135 Stratotanker Air National Guard airplane in Lincoln, Ne. The unveiling will take place tentatively October 3, 2010. (We will update this page if the date changes.) The ENTIRE community of Sterling is invited and urged to attend this special event honoring the artwork and the students. It is a huge honor for Sterling to have been chosen for the artwork! Please make plans to attend!! Thanks again to the Lincoln Air National Guard for choosing Sterling, Nebraska!!
