MERIDIAN  Dec 15, 2009-10

Sterling 46  Meridian 37
Their starters include:
#10-A. Hansel - guard - had 20 points against us, some off steals
into lay-ups, and hit two three-pointers in the overtime from
the right wing area. (6-8 from the line)
#11-B. Sykes - guard - had 12 points (one three pointer-top of key
and was 3-10 from the line), very quick and agressive on defense
#15-A. Johnson - guard/post - not very tall but liked to take and
drive into the left side low post area for a little 8-10 ft.
jumper - 10 points - she likes to go inside some too. (0-3 from
the line)
#22-B. Hofstetter - post - 10 points - Starts at the high post and just
follows the ball form left to right, if I remember right most of
her moves in the paint she went left.
#25-H. Dutton - post - don't hardly remember her on the floor, got into
some foul trouble and did foul out - 4 points

Subs-#12-M. Baxa - guard - 3 points (1-4 from the line)
#42-A. Durflinger - post - did not score

Defensively they used a 2-2-1 press in the first half and went into
a 2-3 defense. When we attacked the middle of the press they switched
it to a 2-1-2 press. In the second half they went m-2-m, some full
court.

Offensively they like to whip it around the perimeter and Hofstetter
looks for the pass at the high to mid post areas. They did go to the
boards hard.

I remember one out of bounds play where they set up in a box and the
rotate so that the weakside elbow player cuts into the low post area
on ball side looking for that pass.

We played a 1-3-1 extended defense in the first half and part of the
third and then switched to a 2-3 to finish the game. We really aren't
in shape so we didn't press them. Early in the game they were looking
to outlet quickly up the sidelines but they weren't in very good
shape either and as the game went on they weren't doing that as much.
