Nebraska Class D All State Band

Five out of six Sterling students who auditioned for Nebraska Class D All State band were accepted to participate. They will be among the nearly 150 musicians from over 25 high schools from all four corners of Nebraska. Students will spend the day in rehearsals on March 15th, with a final concert that evening at 6:30. The event will take place at the Fine Arts Center on the UNK campus in Kearney.
The audition process requires students to prepare two etudes and several scales to be submitted for judging in late November. Students are then placed in one of three bands, the Wind Ensemble, The Symphonic Band, or the Jazz Band. Kyle Lowmack, Amy Hansen, Katie Nierman, and Maddie Daehling were selected for the Symphonic Band and Brandon Nieveen was selected for the Wind Ensemble.
