The second half was a different type of game. HTRS started to pound the inside with their posts players, outscoring Sterling 26-15 the second half. Coach Cockerill thought the difference in the game was their post play. He stated, “the second half their posts owned the paint. They just did a nice job of rebounding and getting deep position. They also finished their short shots, which is important in a close game. We knew that if the score was lower we might have a good chance. We did get our chances but we missed some crucial shots and free-throws towards the end of the game and they made theirs.”
Sterling was led by Kala Weber’s 16 points and Kelci Lowmack’s 10 points. HTRS was paced by Kali Schnacker and Jordan Schaardt scoring 13 and 12 respectively.
