Freeman at Sterling (Thursday, Nov 29th)
Freeman girls defeated Sterling girls 35 – 22. The game was a defensive struggle. Each team showed their early season shooting woes. Sterling jumped out to a first quarter lead of 7-4. Then Freeman had a nice 2nd quarter. Tasha Mares hit two three pointers during the quarter to help the Lady Falcons take a 20-11 halftime lead.
Freeman’s defense kept up through the third quarter holding Sterling scoreless. Sterling tried to make a run in the fourth quarter with some hustle on defense and some good foul shooting, but in the end it was not enough. Sterling was paced by Kelci Lowmack’s 10 points. Cassie Veerhusen and Kelsey Schuster each had 9 points which led the way for Freeman.
