Comments;

When you play a team as good as FCSH you have to serve aggressively and pass the ball well.  We did neither of those well enough to win the match.  Also another key aspect of the game was our inability to stop their big middle hitter, Katelyn Wheeler.  Although this is our second loss to FCSH, I really feel if we put it all together, like I’ve seen us do, the third time will be the charm.  We have to get by Lewiston first in the semifinals of the sub districts, which is a young team that will be playing with nothing to lose.  So we can’t overlook them. We will have to be ready to match their intensity and play well.

As someone said, what a night and day difference from last night!  Our serving was dead on. Stephanie H. had them shaking in their shoes when she served and also contributed 8 kills.  And, as one can see, we had a very good game in both serving and hitting.  Along with that was an impressive game passing the ball.  Our tough serving is what runs our team and when we do those two things well the rest of our game falls in place and we’re hard to beat.

Comments;

This was a game one might say looks like we served pretty well but it doesn’t show that we didn’t hit our targets on serve receive often enough.  This allowed JB to get into their offense too often and too often that was Rachel Rippe.  We just couldn’t get her stopped!  If she didn’t go around the block, she went over it.  This is why it’s so important for us to serve aggressively and to their weaker passers.  If we can do that, we limit the opponent the number of times they can get into their offense and to their big hitter.  We didn’t help ourselves either with our erratic passing and 19 hitting errors.  Although we came close in this one and played better in the last two games than we have been, it is games like this that we need to step it up and play beyond what we thought possible.  I did feel we played more like we were playing earlier in the season, so let’s hope we are back in top form when the sub districts start on Monday at Norris HS.
