Comments;

This was another game where our skills and athleticism exceeded our competition.  In game one we started out slow and not real focused.  After a time out and some encouragement by the coaching staff, things turned around and we took care of business.  That is probably one of the most satisfying things to see in this team and that is for the most part we have come to games with our game face on and have competed with whatever team was on the other side of the net.  Also when maybe we were superior to the other team we haven’t taken a step down in our level of play.  That’s a sign of a very good team.  We’ll find out just how good this Tuesday and Thursday when we face some stiff competition D-2 rated FCSH, C-2 rated NCL, & and very good and athletic D-1 Johnson-Brock who are  contenders in D-1.

As far as any one individual that stood out, it would have to be Stephanie Heusman.  She was on a roll serving!  She finished the match with 14 ace serves; I’m sure a modern game Sterling school record. One could tell the receiving team was scared to death only hoping that they would be subbed out or the serve wouldn’t come to them.  This is the kind of Stephanie we need every game as she has the opportunity to take control of the game every time she goes back and serves.  Few players have that ability to have such control on the game.

Kala Weber did another outstanding job setting the ball and spreading it around as one can see from our balanced hitting attack.  She also served well as she went 14 of 14 and added 2 ace serves to the team total.
